My baby sister loves Tinker Bell. Always has. She just turned seventeen. She did not request this cake. I could not resist. Every girl should have a doll cake for her birthday and every baby sister deserves a Tinker Bell cake. ESPECIALLY if your last name is, well, Bell. And even more especially if you have already enjoyed an Bella and Edward tribute cake (did I mention she is a teenager? And that her Twilight obsession was SO two years ago!?). And if your birthday is in in January, Tinker Bell should be dressed in a winter weather appropriate gown. I should mention that I patted my own back for up-cycling the leftover snowflakes from K’s wedding and making them accents for our cute little fairy (the cake one, not my sister. She is sweet, but I would not call her “cute little fairy.” She is after all, seventeen.) I tried out a new recipe for a homemade Sprinkle-fetti vanilla cake. It needs to be tweaked. That is all I will say about that. The End. And because my brother-in-law has a birthday the day after my sister’s, and because we celebrate them together, I chose to NOT make him share the doll cake (You’re welcome Dan). For him, I made a chocolate cake with whipped ganache, fresh strawberries and chocolate dipped strawberries around the edge. Happy Birthday to them and happy cake eating for all of us!
